Longer Table Farm (formerly Blue Leg Farms) is a young, certified organic farm located in Sonoma County, CA, just ten minutes' drive from both downtown Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. We cultivate thirteen acres focusing on production of head lettuce, salad greens, peppers, cucurbits, tomatoes, cut flowers, and various other market crops for wholesale and farmer’s markets. We aim to grow the highest quality produce by nurturing our soils and the whole farm ecosystem through regenerative farm practices.
Our seasonal field crew is integral to the success of the farm. Seasonal field crew members will be joining an existing crew that is excited to work and grow together on the farm. Most tasks are done as a team so there are lots of fun times to be had! Days can be long, hot and strenuous so a positive attitude and strong work ethic are musts. We strive to foster our crew members’ passions and strengths on the farm and offer transparency on a profitable small farm business model. All positions include unlimited fresh produce for regular home use. We do not offer on-farm housing, and cannot accommodate dogs on the farm.

Vegetable FIELD CREW
Multiple positions available
Full-time (35-45 hrs/week), April/May-October
$17/hr+ DOE
Our field crew is the backbone of the farm. Daily activities may include seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, packing vegetables, and working farmer's markets on a rotating basis. The crew works with our management team to efficiently execute the daily tasks involved in farming. The work can be quite physical but the fun-loving team environment makes the day fly by. This is a great opportunity to learn about small scale organic farming while earning income and working with a great team.
Experience & Qualifications:

Flower FIELD CREW
Multiple positions available
Full-time (35-45 hrs/week), May-October
$17/hr+ DOE
The Flower Field Crew will play a key role in growing the cut flower operation with the Flower Manager. Harvesting flowers for farmer’s markets and wholesale will be the most regular task throughout the season. Harvest speed and efficiency will be essential for success. The Flower Field Crew will also work on a variety of other physical tasks, such as maintaining flower fields (weeding, planting, etc.), making market bouquets and wreaths, washing and sanitizing harvest buckets, assisting the Vegetable Crew when needed, and working farmer's markets on a rotating basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in both flower farming and floral design, though this is primarily a farming position. An individual who is passionate about growing flowers organically, can work fast while maintaining high quality standards, and has an eye for visual appeal will thrive in this position.

pACK HOUSE LEAD
Full-time (35-45 hrs/week)
March-October with potential for year-round employment
$19/hr+ DOE
We wash and process a lot of produce here at Longer Table! We are looking for a Pack House Lead, who will be part of the vegetable crew but with an emphasis on washing and packing produce as it comes in from the field and leaves the farm to our wholesale distributors, direct restaurant and grocery accounts, and farmer’s markets. The Pack House Lead can expect to work closely with our farm manager as support for various post-harvest tasks such as: compiling and packing orders, maintaining high-level quality control on produce leaving the farm, recording harvest data, prepping for farmer’s markets, etc. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing more expertise in post-harvest management, and will shape this position to fit the applicant’s strengths and interests as much as we can. A detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working methodically within a structured system and is capable of holding lots of information at any given moment will thrive in this position.

March-October with potential for year-round employment
$19/hr+ DOE
The Greenhouse Lead/Production Assistant will be part of the vegetable crew but with an emphasis on field tasks such as: regular sowings, management and organization of our germination chamber and propagation houses, record keeping, setting up and fixing irrigation, and executing the irrigation schedule. This person will be supporting and operating under the guidance of the Field Manager. This person can expect to peel off from the crew at a given time each day to water the seedlings, handle fertigation, or manage irrigation sets. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing more expertise in propagation and field management, and will shape this position to fit the applicant’s strengths and interests as much as we can. A self-motivated individual who enjoys opportunities for solo work, is passionate about propagation, and detail-oriented will thrive in this position.

farmer's MARKET LEAD
Part-time (Thursday-Sunday markets) or full-time (including on-farm hours), year-round
$17/hr+ DOE + sales commission
The Farmer’s Market Lead is an absolutely essential part of the farm’s success. The Market Lead is responsible for executing a complete market day (with the Farmer's Market Assistant during the summer season), which includes loading the van in the morning, driving to market, display setup, managing the point of sale at market, chatting knowledgeably with customers and chefs about the products, display takedown, and unloading the van at the other end. Historically, the Market Lead has worked 3 markets a week and 2 days a week on-farm, but we are open to flexibility depending on applicant’s interests and availability. This position includes commission (a percentage of sales) and the ability to trade produce with other vendors at markets.

The Market Assistant will assist the Market Lead in all aspects of the farmer’s market. The ability to chat knowledgeably with customers while maintaining an efficient workflow is a must. Working farmer's markets offers the opportunity to dip one's toes in the local food system and small farm community. This position includes commission (a percentage of sales) and the ability to trade produce with other vendors at markets.
